Aurora over the house

I’ve been working hard a lot, long hours, trying to stay ahead of things. Actually, more like just not get drowned by them.

So I’m at my desk in the basement (my “office”) when Choo Choo comes bounding down the stairs.

“Aurora.”

Then she bounds back up.

I’d heard the three of them chatting upstairs, but had paid little attention (I’d been preoccupied with the coding problem in front of me), so suddenly the opening and closing of the patio door made sense.

They were outside, in the dark, laying on the lawn, staring up at a lot of activity in the sky.

I’ve seen a lot of aurora, and this is the most active year of the sun’s 11-year cycle, but I’ve never seen anything like this from my back yard.

Of course, I went to get my camera. They won’t be stellar pictures (pun intended), it’s more for the recording of the event than anything.

I did, however, apparently miss the best part earlier on.
