Didn’t sleep well. Wasn’t hungry but had a bit of breakfast anyway. Went back to the room to rest and sleep. The ship doesn’t really have a quiet spot to settle and sleep other than your own cabin.
I tried to watch Death on the Nile, as it was on the on-shop entertainment. But I couldn’t get far, it wasn’t mindless enough.
After significant nagging, I opted for sandwiches for lunch. The carbs from the bread would at least help, I think. I’ve gone through at least six cans of ginger ale.
I found mindless after lunch: The Fall Guy. I loved the TV show as a kid and while the movie has very little in common, it’s a full-out love letter to stunt performers, while still having an actual (if thin) plot. It’s growing me as a really fun film.
After another nap, I finally emerged from the room and went up to the Verandah to watch the entry into the Narrows as we entered British Columbia’s inside passage. The fresh air felt loads better – the rooms have lacklustre air circulation. Finally got some good pictures of dolphins. No orca, though – wherever they are, they’re avoiding the ship.
I was finally hungry come dinnertime. But I didn’t want to endure the slow pace of the Dining Room wearing a mask, though. (Yes, I masked up. Possibly too late for Mom, though.) So we went to the Lido Market, once again. I feel bad that I keep dragging Mom up there, but the Dining Room is just too much when you feel the way I do.
Afterwards I went back out to the Verandah for another fruitless orca watch. I watched as the sun (behind us) dipped away behind mountains, dropping the Johnstone Strait into darkness.
I returned to the room and on The Right Stuff, just for something to watch.
